DJ Hutchings has been given the go-ahead for a new commercial unit, which will allow us to keep growing and expanding our business.
We are very happy to announce that planning permission has been granted for a new building close to Selby Barns business park, which will be constructed by Claybourne Developments Ltd on our behalf. The decision to go ahead was made by the South Northamptonshire Council (SNC) Development Control Committee on the 20th October.
We are very excited about what this means for the future of our business. Having become well established in the Towcester area, after more than 40 years, it is time to move on. The new building will be able to house our team as we continue to expand and develop, allowing us to hire additional members of staff to meet with growing demand.
Currently, we have 25 members of staff and the proposed new unit will allow us to take on:
• 10-15 extra members of on-site staff.
• 15-30 extra tradesmen and apprentices to work off site.
The building will be constructed sympathetically and sited appropriately, making use of the same timber cladding as the existing units. It will consist of two floors complete with stores, offices, a reception area and a boardroom as well as parking for 23 vehicles.
SNC’s portfolio holder for planning and environment, Councillor Robert Clark, said: “It is important that we support … the growth of an established local business such as DJ Hutchings. We at SNC are keen to do all we can to create new employment opportunities and allow businesses to thrive in the district.”
