Prize: Is your room in need?   Well if so, this is your chance to win a free room makeover.  To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week and our commitment to apprenticeships enter our free draw for a room of your choice decorating free of charge*.   The works will be carried out by two of our most recently qualified apprentices.
The winner will receive up to £1000 worth of decorating services for a room in their home (up to 24 square metres) from a qualified apprentice decorator employed by D J Hutchings Ltd.  The draw will take place week commencing 27th February 2012 by the Mayor of Towcester in the Town Hall.

Terms and Conditions for prize promotion


By entering into this prize promotion, you accept and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:                                               


This prize promotion is open to all UK residents aged 18 years or over except employees of D J Hutchings Ltd, their families or, agents or anyone else who may be involved or connected with the prize promotion.


1.The prize, provided by D J Hutchings Ltd (the “Prize Provider”), will consist of a makeover of one interior room of the winner’s place of residence (up to a maximum size of 24 square metres), to be performed by a qualified apprentice employed by D J Hutchings Ltd using Dulux products (the “Prize”).


The winner must agree to the following terms and conditions before accepting and becoming entitled to the Prize:


(i)The winner must be the property owner with full rights to redecorate the room chosen for the makeover.  The Prize Provider may require evidence that the winner is the property owner.


(ii)The winner must ensure that their room is suitable to be painted with Dulux paint.  By way of example only, wall surfaces should be plastered, clean, free of wallpaper and need only minor preparation.  Houses must be structurally sound and not suffering from subsidence or rot or any other structural defect.  In the event the Prize Provider consider the room to be in unsuitable condition for the makeover, the winner will be not be entitled to the Prize and the Prize Provider may award the Prize to the runner up of the prize promotion.


(iii)The winner agrees to ensure that there will be adequate parking and space in front of their place of residence for access by the employees of D J Hutchings Ltd and their vehicles during the course of the makeover.


(iv)The makeover work will be carried out on a date to be agreed between the winner and the Prize Provider.  Although every effort will be made to work in accordance with the winner’s availability, the winner will be required to make their place of residence available for the duration of the makeover. 


(v)The winner must make sure that all moveable objects have been removed from the room prior to the makeover. The Prize Provider will ensure dust sheets are used to cover furniture and fittings that cannot be reasonably removed from the room.


(vi)The winner will choose the colour scheme for the makeover. The colour scheme must be agreed before the redecoration work begins and cannot be changed.


(vii)Before commencement of the makeover, the winner may be required to sign a form confirming their acceptance of the redecoration work as agreed between the winner and the Prize Provider and, as well as upon completion of the makeover to confirm their acceptance of the makeover.


(viii)Should the winner and the Prize Provider be unable to agree on the colour scheme or any of the redecoration work to be done, the Prize Provider reserves the right to award the Prize to the next entrant selected.



2.The closing date of the prize promotion is midnight on the 27th February 2012If  and any entries received after the Closing Date will not be accepted.


3.The winner will be notified within 28 days of the winner being selected. To contact you we will use the contact details supplied by you when entering the prize promotion.


4.If you are notified of a winning entry, you must confirm acceptance by telephone to claim the Prize.  If you do not confirm acceptance within 3 working days of receiving your notification of you being a winner, the Prize Provider may offer the Prize to someone else.


5.Only one entry per person is permitted.  No third party or joint submissions will be accepted.


6.Submission of entries will not constitute proof of receipt and no responsibility will be accepted by the Promoter for entries or acceptances that the Promoter does not receive.  The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or corruption of data in transit.  No responsibility will be accepted for entries or acceptances that are lost, delayed or damaged in the post or elsewhere.  Illegible, incomplete, late or defaced entries will not be accepted.


7.  The Prize must be taken as offered.  No cash equivalent or other alternative prize are available in whole or in part except as provided for in these terms and conditions.  The Prize is not redeemable for cash.


8.  The winner of the competition may be required to participate in publicity.   The Prize Provider may exercise its sole discretion to use the competition winner’s (and if applicable their companion’s) name and image and their comments relating to the prize and competition experience for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media without notice and without any fee being paid.
